Sunday Scoop

Y'all, life is B-U-S-Y! From sickness to work to church, etc., you name it, we've had it going on, so after nearly two weeks of zero blog entries, I am linking up with Teaching Trio for their Sunday Scoop Linky.

I'm SO excited that I HAVE to finish packing for our trip to Disney World this week!!! We are in dire need of a family get-away, and it. is. here! I'm sure some of you are wondering how in the world I'm managing to take off of work this week to go on a vacation; well, our county is out of school on Winter Break this whole week! This will be our first trip to Disney World as a family of five...I'm excited, but nervous at the same time.

I also need to clean my house before we leave; nothing is worse than returning from vacation to clean. Getting my wired up children in bed is also a have to this week! :)

As soon as everything settles down tonight, I hope to be able to spend a little time reading. Don't laugh, but I'm just now getting around to reading the Hunger Games Trilogy. I just started Mockingjay last week, so hopefully I'll be able to finish it before the final movie comes out. I know I'm behind on the times, but it's hard to read when you have three small children. I have started using my iPad as a Kindle, so I can't put it down at the drop of a hat with no worries about losing my place. I really hope to get around to grading a few papers before we leave as well, but honestly, that'll probably happen next Sunday night...maybe.

Again, I'm so stoked to spend some time with my family away from our busy life! My husband can't get called out, I don't have to worry about cleaning, cooking, grading, blah, blah, blah....it's just going to be us plus the three! Eeeek! Mickey, here we come!

Hope you all have a fabulous week!
Thanks for reading,

Currently...

It's amazing how quickly time passes by, isn't it?! I can NOT believe that it is already February 2015! I can't believe that my youngest child is knocking on one already either! Seriously, how does time seem to slip by?

Well, to give you a glimpse into what I'm doing currently, I'm linking up with Farley from Oh, Boy Fourth Grade. I heard a lot about this link up, and I'm so excited to finally participate in it!

Currently, I'm listening to my husband snore...yes, it is 10 am, and yes, we are supposed to be at church by 11. Being late is a common occurrence in our home...I know, it shouldn't be anything to be proud of (and I'm not), but I have come to accept that usually no matter how hard I try, we are usually 5-10 minutes late EVERYWHERE we go. I guess everybody has their weaknesses...

Currently, I'm loving the fact that my sweet husband has been off all weekend. He is a deputy sheriff for our county, which is something to be proud of, but he works third shift. We have to juggle three children, church, extracurricular activities with our kids, and his sleeping pattern. When he's off on the weekend, it feels like we are a normal family. We've been able to enjoy LOTS of family time this weekend!

Currently, I'm thinking about how I only have to survive...err, work...for two more weeks until we get a week off for Winter Break! Woohoo! I have a couple of tough kiddos this year, so a week break is very much needed, AND we are going to Disney World that week too!

Currently, I'm wanting to rip up our carpet and put down hardwood floor. With three children and the Police K9 living in our home, we need to rip our carpet up now! I vacuum nearly everyday...enough said.

Currently, I'm needing to clean my house and get ready for the upcoming week; however, I am excited about my current project that I just started working on last night. My partner and I are wanting to begin targeting vocabulary that our students will most likely see on our new state test, so I am working on a "Common Core Question of the Day" presentation. We are going to use a question each day to analyze with our students. We are planning to look at the academic vocabulary and what the question is asking them to do. I'm excited to see how it turns out!

Lastly, currently, my pageant title would be "Queen of Multitasking". Being a mother who works means that I have to multitask almost constantly! I think multitasking is a require of being a mother and a teacher!

So....that's what I'm up to currently! I'd love to hear all about what you're doing!

Happy Sunday!
