Hi all! I'm so excited to begin this brand new journey in the "blogging world"! This is my very first blog post on my new blog...eeekkk!!! Let's see how this goes!
First things first. Let me formally introduce myself. My name is Elaine White. I have been married to my awesome husband for nearly 9 years. Together we have three beautiful children; MaryBeth, EmmaKate, and Kace. They are our miracles sent straight from Heaven.
This is my 9th year teaching, but my 8th year in my current position as a 5th grade teacher. I love my job! After working in the same grade for as long as I have, I feel completely comfortable with the curriculum that I teach. Do I have bad days? Absolutely! Do I ever have days that I'm ready for a change? Oh yeah! Do I love my job most of the time? Yes!
My passion is English Language Arts. This subject area encompasses two of my favorite things: reading and writing! I have always been one who really enjoyed writing. I love to see the growth that my 5th graders demonstrate from the beginning of the year to the end. Some of them really sprout wings throughout the year!
Some people may be wondering why I've decided to pursue this new journey...the answer is simply because I've always been one of those teachers that likes to create my own resources because I can't find one that fits the needs of my students or my wants. Instead of searching for hours, I usually spend some time creating what I want and then put it to use in my classroom. And, just in case you are wondering, the answer is no, they do not always achieve what I was going for with my students. You live, you learn, you try again!
Now to the really, I mean REALLY good stuff! I want to invite you all to follow my TeachersPayTeachers store: Teaching Lane. I am relatively new to the TpT world, so bare with me. It's going to be like fine wine, it'll get better with time!
You can also find me on Facebook! I'd love to have you follow me!
Thanks for reading!
