Sunday Scoop

Hey y'all! I'm so excited to finally be able to blog again! For some unknown reason, I haven't been able to upload any photos to blogger...you may  need to brace yourself for a blog overload from Teaching Lane because I have SO much I want to share!
Anyway, I'm linking up with TeachingTrio to bring you the "Sunday Scoop".

3 HAVE TOs:
Laundry and meal planning...need I say more? I think that's pretty much neverending for moms! :)
My husband and I also have to take our children to see my father-in-law later this evening because he is leaving to work out of town for this week. We have a very close knit family; when I say close knit, I seriously mean it. My children are blessed to have both sets of grandparents living within a 5 minutes radius from us. My parents and Kevin's parents get along also. Trust me when I say it makes life so much easier...most of the time!

2 HOPE Tos:
Last week I noticed that several of my students are still struggling with homophones, especially to/two/too and there/their/they're. Can you guess what I'm going to focus on this week along with everything else we are working on? Yep, you guessed it! Homophones. I decided that I'd like to do something fun with them to review, so we are going to do a homophone carousel activity and play Homophone Bingo. The only downfall to playing Homophone Bingo? I am still in the process of creating it! I'm going to have to be very busy this week in order to get in finished and prepared in time to use it! (Be sure to check it out in my TpT store sometime at the beginning of this week!)

I also hope to begin a new blog post for sometime toward the beginning of this week. I haven't blogged in over a week because I've been fighting with blogger to upload my images. I'm not sure why it's fixed, or how it's fixed, but I'm not going to complain!

1 HAPPY TO:
I am actually sitting in my girls' room playing with Barbies and talking to my oldest daughter, MaryBeth, right now. She and I have been able to spend lots of time talking, laughing, and watching movies this weekend. I am trying to put other things aside so that I can cherish this years with all three of my children because I know that they are going to grow up in the blink of an eye! (Putting things aside means that I have many LATE nights so that I can work on TpT stuff!)

Hope you are having a very HAPPY Sunday and getting some relaxation in before we begin yet another week as educators!

Thanks for reading,
Elaine, Teaching Lane

  1. Nothing better than a close family! My mom lives right next to us and my husband was the one to suggest it!!
Hope you have a fantastic week and get everything on your list done!

  2. Hello! It's Myranda from Keep Calm and Teach 5th Grade! I'm so happy that you found me and now I've found your blog! My Sundays always consist of meal planning and laundry. Even though it's only for myself, it still seems like the worst task! :) Have fun visiting your family this week!
